Detailed
A stainless steel pipe joint threaded fitting is a pipe fitting that USES a separate threaded joint to form a detachable mechanical joint.Bolted flanges require several bolts, a clamp, or a combination of the two to ensure the connection.
The functional similarity of a typical connector with a removable seal is shown. The two connectors contain three functional components :(1) seal;(2) connection of conduit and (3) fitting.Hydraulic connectors manufacturers do not necessarily apply these functional components only to mechanical components, as shown in the bolted flange connection, which functions to seal the functional components include two flanges and seals. In the threaded fitting shown, a short flange, a seal and a threaded flange form the sealing element. The bolts and nuts shown, whose functional similarity is obvious, are tensile stress components of the load-bearing structure.Non-standard steel tube, stainless steel standard quick twist joint, sleeve joint, manufacturer's connection between the pipe and the fitting is achieved by welding in both cases. The following discussion applies also to threaded and bolted flanged connections.
(1) design and selection criteria
Some important factors related to the design and selection of these two types of connectors are summarized below. Some of these factors are discussed in detail in the following sections. It should be noted that the design and selection criteria are grouped under five headings, not in order of importance.
